Times Square

1500 Broadway occupies an entire block front on the east side of Broadway between 43rd Street and 44th Street, in the heart of Times Square, Manhattan, and comprises 500,000 square feet of office and retail space.

The property was acquired in 1995 when Times Square was an undesirable, run down area of Manhattan. Tamares Real Estate took the view that it was a unique location which would eventually return to favour. By 2000, Times Square had again become a destination site for tourists and an extremely desirable office location.

The building was completely renovated and reconfigured and is now fully leased. Tenants include ABC Studios, Disney, NASDAQ, Essence Magazine, Edelman Public Relations Worldwide and a Starbucks that generates the highest sales per square foot in the world.

1500 Broadway is now famous for the seven-storey NASDAQ ticker tape display that wraps around the building and for the prominent glass-fronted studio of ABC's Good Morning America television show.

Tamares Real Estate was one of Times Square's pioneers in understanding the tremendous signage value of a property's exterior, which has created a valuable additional source of revenue.
